Purpose

The San Mateo Radio Club serves the members of the Amateur Radio community, not only in San Mateo but also in the surrounding communities in the Bay Area.

The club provides a focus for its member’s to share common interests in the many varied aspects of a great hobby. The club supports emergency preparedness, helps newcomers to get on the air by sharing the enthusiasm and skills to make on the air contacts with Amateur Radio operators in the United States and foreign countries. The club’s goal is to improve its member’s technical and operating capabilities and to foster fellowship. Club members are always willing to help their communities in time of need.  

 

 

Club Meetings

The San Mateo Radio Club meets every third Friday of the months at 7:30PM in the Beresford Recreation Center, 28th and Alameda de Las Pulgas, San Mateo. The club meeting begins with an interesting program, followed by “The Coffee Break” and concludes with a short business session. Do not forget the San Mateo Radio Club's Tuesday night net.  The net meets on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM on 145.650 MHz simplex.  We take a quick check-in and then exchange information on club activities plus the usual signal reports and names.  See you there!

 

Field Day

Field Day 2002 was a great success, as usual.  The following are a few pictures from this and past field days.  Keep checking the site for information on Field Day 2003!

This is the site ... hard to see the 2 'V' beams, but check out the awesome 2 meter beam...
